While using Instagram will help amplify the visibility of your personal brand (and help you grow a community), let’s dive into how to actually cultivate your personal brand.
Your visual aesthetic
Your visual aesthetic is one of the first things people will notice about your account and you. This is the visual branding of your page and when you are consistent with it, people will start to recognize it and know that it’s your post which is truly so powerful and makes you memorable. Your visual aesthetic includes your images, colors, fonts, and general style.
Your tone of voice
Your tone and the way you speak is a huge part of your personal brand. It helps your audience connect with you through your words. It’s way more than what you say but also how you say it. Do you want to curse? Do you want to sound professional? Do you want to have a casual tone like you’re talking to your best friend?
Your experiences
Sharing your experiences on social media as it relates to your niche is one of the best ways you can connect with your audience and feel a lot more human to them and more accessible. You never want to be this person that feels so high above them like they can’t touch. Now this does not mean you are going to share your deepest darkest secrets or treat your social media like a personal diary. It simply means sharing the things that relate to your niche and would in turn relate to your audience.
Your values
People want to buy from, follow, and work with people who have shared values. We feel really connected to people who again believe the same things we do and have similar interests. Of course values goes beyond just interests, values are beliefs and principles that you live by. It’s things that motivate actions and behavior. This could be sharing your faith, body positivity, your standards, not buying fast fashion, and so much more. This all comes down to what you feel comfortable sharing.
