As an online business owner or creative you probably feel a lot of pressure to always create new and fresh content. That can quickly lead to burnout and feeling uninspired.
Guess what? You don’t have to create new content all the time. In fact, you SHOULD be recreating your best performing content and creating cross-platform traffic.
SO WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO REPURPOSE CONTENT?
Simply put, it’s taking a piece of content you already posted and re-creating it in a different way. It’s not just reposting your Tiktok videos to Instagram.
Done the right way, you can repurpose on Tiktok video into multiple Instagram reels, blog posts, podcast episodes, and more.
HOW TO REPURPOSE FROM TIKTOK TO INSTAGRAM
The first thing to note is that the users on Tiktok and Instagram consume content very differently. Meaning what works on Tiktok doesn’t work on Instagram and vice versa. So if you throw your reel up on Tiktok, there’s a good chance it’s going to flop.
What you want to do instead is take the content idea, the meat of it, and recreate it in a way that will work for that specific platform.
For example: If you have a minute long Tiktok video about 3 mistakes someone is making when it comes to their skincare routine, you would turn that into a reel by creating a short form video with text on screen that says “3 mistakes you’re making when it comes to your skincare routine” and add a trending sound. Because the people scrolling through their reels tab are highly unlikely to sit through a one minute video like the people on Tiktok.
You can do this with every single piece of content that does really well because that is a good sign that your audience wants more of it!
The key is just catering it to the specific platform you’re posting on.
